The All-on-4 technique is a method used in implant treatment for edentulous (toothless) patients. It enables the placement of a fixed prosthesis on a fully edentulous jaw using just four dental implants. In conventional implant treatments, typically 6 to 8 implants are used, with 6 being sufficient in most cases. However, in situations where the bone in the posterior region of the jaw is insufficient but the anterior bone is adequate, this technique allows for the placement of four implants using a special approach.
One of the main advantages of the All-on-4 technique is that the implants are strategically angled and positioned in areas where bone density is highest, thanks to precise planning of the implant placement angles.
Thanks to this technique, dental implants can be placed even in patients with jawbone loss—without the need for additional procedures such as bone grafting. Moreover, patients can receive a temporary fixed prosthesis on the same day the implants are placed, preventing them from being toothless during the healing period.
A healing period of approximately three months is required for the implants to integrate with the bone. After this time, patients receive their permanent prosthesis and can return to their daily routines.
All-on-4 provides highly successful results in terms of both function and aesthetics.
